Today marks the anniversary of the first lockdown coming into force.
At 12pm, we held a minute’s silence and there will be a doorstep vigil at 8pm. Members across the country have been lighting candles.
It is a day we can remember all our colleagues and fellow Unison members across the country who have lost their lives to COVID.
It is believed that 1,000 health and care workers across the country have died after testing positive for the virus since March 2020. Across the country, other essential workers delivering essential services have also lost their lives.
We remember them all and also our thoughts are with those who have survived but are still feeling the effects.
