THE RETURN TO LEARN PROGRAMME IS COMING TO HYNDBURN
FREE TO UNISON MEMBERS
27TH SEPTEMBER 2016 AT 6PM
ACCRINGTON (NEAR TO TRAIN AND BUS STATION)
The programme is designed for adults who may not have done any formal learning for some time (for some of us, since we left school). It’s aimed to help you gain the skills and confidence to return to study, learn or do something new. Learning as an adult is often very different from learning at school, it’s usually a more relaxed environment and a whole new way of learning which can seem a little scary and daunting, this programme will help you to prepare in a supportive environment alongside other likeminded people with a similar goal. Many of the skills you’ll learn in this course will help you with other aspects of your life, be it work or helping the kids/grandkids with their homework.
There’s no exams, WooHoo!! and you’ll work at your own pace and level. At the end you’ll receive a certificate from the WEA (Workers Education Association), plus information on how your achievements will be of interest to an employer and further learning opportunities available to you.
It’s a 12 week programme, finishing with residential weekend and best of all, it won’t cost you a penny. UNISON pays the cost of all materials and out of pocket expenses. UNISON can also help with childcare or dependent care costs.
This course is open to all UNISON members in the East-Lancashire area, so if you are a UNISON member or know a UNISON member that may be interested in taking up this fantastic opportunity, then take a look at the attached flyer and return the enquiry form to the FREEPOST address or email the details to Louise.HyndburnULR@icloud.com
I hated School but love learning as an adult, expanding my skills, knowledge and confidence. Why not come along to the information evening and see what it’s all about.
