Essential Car User Allowance – Update 29/11/2019

From the 31st December 2019 the Council intend to remove the ECU allowance from those members who no longer qualify for the allowance under the new criteria imposed by the authority.

Members who qualified for the allowance under the new criteria have now been invited to meetings with management to consult on the permanent removal of ECU allowance.

UNISON has attended as many of these meetings as possible to offer advice to members.

Please be aware that while ECU is a Green Book term and condition and as such cannot be removed without a collective agreement, the Council can set the criteria at any level they choose.
