For 20 years the Union Learning Fund (ULF) has been getting working people into skills training they’d otherwise have no access to, with courses directly relevant to the workplace, tailored to workers and supported by government funding.

Workplace learning is a massive success.

Homeworking Tax Relief

If you’re a tax payer you can now apply for tax relief for homeworking.

HMRC have launched a new online portal for employed workers who have been told to work from home by their employer.

Note: you cannot claim tax relief if you choose to work from home.

Stars in Our Schools 27 November 2020

All events will either be run online or in a socially distanced way. Our theme this year is: ‘Working together to get the job done – safely!’   Many old favourites will still be there.

You may have seen recently some news that Lancashire might be getting something called a Combined Authority and an elected Mayor. You may have also seen that this is conditional upon there being some form of Local Government re-organisation (LGR) – that is a change in the number of Councils and their boundaries.
