Blackburn Trade Union Education Centre – 2nd Protest

For those who weren’t able to attend Saturday’s meeting, details of the second protest are as follows:

Wednesday 1st July at 1 p.m.

A cavalcade of cars to meet at the Montague Street Aldi car park. This is across the road from the side of the University Centre and the post code for satnav is BB2 1EH.

NJC Pay update

UNISON’s national joint council (NJC) committee met on 5 June, to consider feedback from regions and decide on next steps in the NJC pay negotiation process.
The Local Government Association has made it clear that it will not approach the UK government to request any further money for local government pay.

Black Lives Matter

Like me, I am sure you will have been disgusted by the events in America and yet another death of a black person in police custody.
As a movement and as trade unionists we need to anti-racist. In other words, we need to constantly challenge ourselves, hold ourselves up to the highest standard and fight hatred and discrimination wherever we find it.
