Social Work England – transition arrangements

World Mental Health Day – 10 October

The focus of this year’s World Mental Health Day is suicide prevention.

The World Health Organisation reports that every year close to 800,000 people take their own life and there are many more people who attempt suicide. Every suicide is a tragedy that affects families, communities and entire countries and has long-lasting effects on the people left behind.

17 October – Local Service Champions Day

Local government workers are there for us, through every stage of our lives. From birth, through our youth and adulthood, to old age. We cannot live our lives without them. But local government workers are often forgotten.

Refuse workers, trading standards officers, environmental health inspectors, youth workers, librarians, school cleaners, care assistants – and many more –  deliver vital local services.

Maths Workout Week kicks off!

Unionlearn is celebrating all things maths during the Maths Workout Week between the 7th and 11th October.

There’s plenty take part in for FREE: 

  • Take part in the Numeracy Challenge and enter a prize draw!
    • Step 1: Register for the Numeracy Challenge
    • Step 2: Complete the initial assessment to find out your numeracy level by 18th October and receive learning resources tailored to your level.
